Las exposiciones en Beaugency | The exhibitions at Beaugency

Este es un proyecto itinerante e independiente para presentar dos exposiciones fotográficas que tratan sobre un viaje a pie a lo largo del río más largo de Francia y el último río salvaje de Europa, el Loira, la Loire en francés.
This is an independent and itinerant venture presenting two photographic exhibitions about a travel by foot along the longest river in France and the last savage river in Europe, la Loire.
La propuesta del proyecto es visitar 9 ciudades junto al río para mostrar el largo camino que transita hasta llegar al mar; la mayoría de los visitantes se sorprenden de ver sus modestos orígenes y sus variados paisajes. Pero también mostrar otra cara del río, no la típica que muchos conocen cerca de los famosos castillos, sino la otra, la de una Francia rural que lucha por sobrevivir frente la modernidad que ha obligado a una gran mayoría a partir a las ciudades en busca de trabajo, dejando atrás sus pueblos en el abandono.
The proposal of the project is to visit 9 cities along the river to show the long path it has to follow to reach the ocean; most people are surprised to see its humble springs and the variety of its landscapes. But also to show the other face of the river, not the tipical and mostly known for its famous castles, but the one of a rural France that strives to survive facing the modernity that has forced many to leave for the cities in the search for jobs, leaving their little towns almost abandoned.

UN VIAJE

Este viaje tiene un origen personal, Adrien Miquel hizo una pausa de dos años en su vida para cuidar de su madre enferma. Antes fallecer, ella le hizo prometer a la familia que esparcerían sus cenizas en el origen de su querido río Loira, junto al que creció, y cuyo inicio nunca pudo conocer.
This travel has a personal begining, Adrien Miquel made a pause in his live for two years to take of his sick mother. Before she passed, she made the family promised they would throw her ashes at the springs of her beloved Loire, the one she grew up close to, but the part she never had the chance to visit.

El día después de que cumplieron su última petición, en Mont Gerbier de Jonc, Adrien empezó su viaje a pie para recorrer la totalidad del río, quizá porque los viajes son una forma de sanar, quizá como un homenaje a ella, o quizá para entender el amor que sentía por ese río sobre el que tanto le habló en esos largos dos años. Poco más de mil kilómetros y tres meses fueron necesarios para descubrirlo en su totalidad: la naturaleza, su belleza, las historias alrededor, la vida rural de su país, los pueblos y más allá, su gente.
The day after her last petition was fulfilled, at Mont Gerbier de Jonc, Adrien began walking along the river, maybe because travels are a way to heal, maybe as a tribute to her, or maybe to understand why she loved it so. Little more than one thousand kilometers and three months were necessary for him to discover it all: the nature, its beauty, the stories around, the rural life of his country, the little towns and even more, the people.

DOS EXPOSICIONES

Una vez que el viaje terminó, Adrien tenía más de 4 mil fotografías y el deseo de compartir la Loire que descubrió: su permanente y prominente presencia y el corazón rural de su país. Aquí es cuando inició nuestra colaboración para construir este proyecto para presentar dos exposiciones itinerantes que pudieran estar tanto en exteriores como interiores, y que pudieran viajar a lo largo del río como un simbolismo del propio viaje original.
Once the trip was over, Adrien had more than four thousand photographies and the desire to share the Loire he discovered: its permanent and majestous presence, and the rural heart of its country. Here is when our collaboration started to build up this project, meant to present two itinerant exhibitions that could be outdoors, or indoors if necessary, and that could travel along the river as a reminder to the original travel made by the photographer.
